Golf game analysis

Among the many new features introduced in version 1.8 of Hello Birdie are advanced statistics when you sign your scorecard. This golf game analysis is ideal for reviewing your round at the clubhouse! The different screens are detailed below:

Golf game analysis from your tee shots

An important piece of data is the FIR: Fairway in Regulation. This indicates the percentage of shots that landed on the fairway from the tee out of the total number of attempts. Only your shots on holes with a Par of 4 or higher are considered attempts… because on Par 3s, you’re supposed to go straight to the green! 😅

The app also gives you this information club by club. Perhaps this is an opportunity to check whether you should be using your driver as often? 🫣

Analyze your round from Tee to green

An important piece of data is the GIR: Greens in Regulation. This indicates the total percentage of greens reached, leaving 2 putts to make Par on the total number of holes played.

Once again, the app provides you with detailed information for each club. This may be an opportunity to check whether you are accurate enough with your different irons and wedges!

Short game analysis

Not everyone is necessarily familiar with the different terminology:

Scrambling: the percentage of Pars achieved when the green was not reached in Regulation.

Bunker-Putt: Last shot out of the bunker followed by one putt or less… sometimes it goes in straight! ⛳️

Up & Down: Approach shot followed directly by a putt that goes in. You don’t necessarily save par, though.

Distance of the first putt: We also show you the average distance of the first putt to be made depending on the lie: fringe, bunker, rough, fairway, tee… If you don’t want to work on your approach shots to the green, this gives you an initial idea of the distance you need to work on when putting to avoid three putts!

And what does that mean on the green?

We show you the number of putts per green from different perspectives: overall, by GIR (where we hope you stay under 2), and finally by OIR.

💡What is OIR? : Objectives in Regulation. This indicates the total number of Objectives achieved out of the total number of holes played.

The Objective is achieved when you reach the green while allowing yourself two putts to achieve your Stableford objective.
For example, if you are playing a Par 4 with 1 extra shot received based on your HCP, your target is to reach the green in 3 shots.
This indicator is more relevant than the GIR for players with a HCP of 18 or higher.

Analyze your strategy

The purpose of this screen is to confirm that you have successfully followed your game plan… or to see how realistic your game plan is! 😈

💡How do I understand these +0.2 values? :
A positive value indicates how far you are from achieving your plan.
A negative value indicates that you are exceeding your plan.
Next time, we recommend planning even more aggressively!
