Version 1.8 brings a host of new features to Hello Birdie. You can now choose between a Strokeplay or Stableford round. This choice affects a number of things, which we detail below:
Stableford or Strokeplay rules
When creating a round, you can now choose between Strokeplay and Stableford. Depending on your choice, the score tracking keyboard – Easy Shot Tracker – will be slightly adjusted. In addition, the live scorecard during the round and your round statistics once your scorecard has been signed will display dedicated information.
๐ก Tip : Did you choose the wrong rules when creating your round? No problem: you can edit them at any time before starting tracking your round, even if your game plan has already been set.
Easy Shot Tracker evolution
We will ignore for now the step of setting up the game plan – even if it’s important ๐ – and start a round right away. You can now pick up the ball at any time by clicking on the โXโ key.
๐ก Good to know : You have several options! Either you decide to enter the first shots of the hole to flesh out your game statistics, for example; then you indicate that you have picked up – or not found! ๐ – the ball. Or, to keep things simple, you can mark the hole directly with a cross.
Scorecard
Check your scorecard at any time during the round by clicking on the dedicated icon located just above the Easy Shot Tracker. You can also position your phone horizontally to change the display layout. Your Stableford points are then displayed.
Round score
Once the scorecard has been signed, the score displayed depends on the rules selected.
In Stableford
In addition to the Stableford scores in Gross and Net, you will find the average number of points earned in Net on each type of Par. This is a quick way to identify the type of hole where you performed well on the course!
In Strokeplay
Beyond the total number of shots played: the Gross score, or Net score when you subtract the Par from the course, you will find the average number of shots you made on each type of Par.
๐ก Good to know : When you create a new round, the rule’s mode from the previous round is selected by default. Not sure about the Stableford format? Find out more about Stableford scoring system.
